Aromatherapy Courses, Texas

Aromatherapy, both a science and an art, uses oils extracted or distilled from botanical sources to promote health and foster homeostasis. Three modules comprise Flower Road aromatherapy courses, Texas State approved for continuing education and popular among registered massage therapists. • Module 1 covers the historical background and fundamental concepts that define Clinical Aromatherapy. Students will learn about the chemical families by which essential oils are grouped and they will find out why therapeutic grade essential oils are most desirable and how to recognize them. Finally, students will be introduced to Latin names and the various chemo-types that can be found within a single plant species. The class also includes advice on expanding your business by incorporating aromatherapy.
• During Module 2, students will first review the basic elements of Module 1 and will then focus on such topics as temperaments, chemical families (more in-depth than in Module 1), ten additional essential oils and some additional formulas (beyond those covered in Module 1), and view a formulating and a massage demonstration.
• Module 3 is the last component of our aromatherapy courses. Texas registered massage therapists will review what was covered in Modules 1 and 2 and then extend their expertise through additional formulating.
